Mapping layers with data in Figma
Updated over a month ago

If you wish to customize selected parameters from which your data is imported and reflected on a design, or change them completely in a more advanced way, you can do so by modifying mapping within Figma using Cropink's dedicated plugin. In order to do that:

  1. Select your project and go to "Designs" tab.

  2. Click on the design of your choice and head over to "Try Figma Plugin" under the product image.

  3. After the plugin page opens, simply click on "Open in Figma" and select the file/library you want to work on. If you haven't created one yet, click on "+ New File". After that you will be redirected to Figma.

  4. Once in Figma, simply click on "Run" and connect the project of your choice. You will need to generate a Token to be able to do so. Follow this quick tutorial Connecting Cropink with Figma.

  5. Next, select the design for which you want to change parameter mapping and click "Import from Cropink".

  6. Once the design has imported correctly, you will be brought to "Manageable Layers" tab. In there under the "In this file" section, you can add new elements that will be reflected in Cropink by clicking the + symbol.

  7. To preview the changes implemented (if applicable), go to "Preview" tab.

  8. Once you have made all the adjustments, click on "Publish in Cropink" and the changes will be reflected on your design(s) in Cropink.

NOTE: For the best experience, keep the Cropink Design Tools pop-up window open. However, if you accidentally close it, you can reopen it by going to Figma -> Plugins -> Cropink Design Tools. You might need to reconnect your project design, however all the changes you've made will be saved on auto.

You can also minimize the Plugin window by clicking the toggle in the lower left corner.
