How to Use Design Manager in Cropink

Updated yesterday

Design Manager is where you customize how your product images will look with overlays (like prices, text, or badges). If you’re just starting out with Cropink, don’t worry – this guide will walk you through everything step by step.

Design manager allows you to customize the following:

Manageable layers

In this section, you’ll see a list of all elements in your design that can change based on your product data. For example, you can connect a price text field with your product feed so the price updates automatically for each product visual.

You can manage:

  • 📝 Text (like price, product name, discount)

  • 🖼️ Images (e.g. icons, logos, backgrounds)

  • 🔲 Frames (shapes, containers, badges, etc.)

💡 Tip: When you click on an element in the design preview, it will automatically highlight in the list – so you always know exactly what you’re editing.

Properties

This section lets you change settings for individual elements. Here’s what you can do:

🔗 Data Mapping

Choose what product data (like price, product name, sale tag) should be shown in the element.

👁️ Visible Toggle

Decide if an element should be visible or hidden.

⚙️ Conditional Properties

Set up rules for when and how an element should behave.

Example:
“If there’s no sale price → change the color of the price to black.”

Here’s how it works:

  1. Choose the parameter (e.g. sale_price)

  2. Add a condition (e.g. "is empty")

  3. Set an action (e.g. "change text color")

Available conditions include:

  • is empty

  • is not empty

  • contains

  • not contains

  • text equal

  • text not equal

  • number greater than

  • number less than

Available actions:

  • Map to (mapping your element with different source data)

  • Hide

  • Show

  • Change Placeholder (images only)

  • Change Background Color (frames only)

  • Change Border Color (frames only)

  • Change Color (text only)

  • Change Text (text only)

  • Change Font (text only)

You can set up to 3 actions per condition, and multiple conditions for a single element.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Conditions run in order – the newest one will override the older ones.

🎨 Color

Simple color picker for text or frame elements.

🖼️ Image Placeholder (for image elements)

Manually choose a custom image.

⚠️ NOTE: this will apply to all products using this design – so don’t use it for product photos unless you really want the same image on everything.

🔲 Image Fitting (only image elements)

Choose how your image fits into its container:

  • Fill (cover the whole area)

  • Fit (keep full image visible, even if there’s space around it)

✒️ Text Settings

Customize your text:

  • Text Placeholder (replaces your default text)

  • Font

  • Font Size

  • Alignment

  • Decoration

  • Case

  • Truncation

🔖 Price Formatting

Tweak how prices look in your design:

  • Price part

  • Prefix (what shows before the price value)

  • Suffix (what shows after the price value)

  • Currency override

  • Currency position

  • Thousands separator

  • Decimal separator

  • Decimal places

Use this to match your branding or country format.

To see your changes, click the “Apply” button.

You can preview how your design looks for a random product, or type a specific product ID using the “Data Preview” window at the top.

Once you're happy, click “Review & Publish” to see a before/after view. Then hit “Publish” to save it on the design.

Flexible Logo

Want to freely move your logo? Use the Flexible Logo tool – just drag and drop it anywhere.

⚠️ NOTE: If you already have a logo in your design, it’s best to hide the original one (select the logo element → set Visible to "No") before using the flexible one.

Data Preview

In this section you can preview your design on a random or a specific item by typing in its' ID.

If you’re comfortable designing in Figma, you can create custom templates and upload them into Cropink using our plugin. Learn how in THIS ARTICLE.

That's it! The Design Manager gives you full control over how your product ads will look — and once you get the hang of it, it’s surprisingly fun to use.
